Nothing on this site or in the app knows who you are. There is no sign-up, no password and no profile, so there is no record of you to hold, to lose or to sell.

The app can see where you are while you have it open. That position is used on your own phone and stays on it.

No cookies. The site sets none and reads none. What your browser keeps is the pages themselves, so a walk you have opened is still readable in a valley with no signal.

Page views are counted on the deployed site, through Vercel’s own analytics. It records which page was opened, not who opened it: no cookie, no identifier, and nothing that joins one visit to the next or follows you to another site.

Everything a page shows is served from this domain. The photographs, the timetables and the figures are all here, so reading a walk tells nobody else that you read it.

The app fetches two things and only two. Everything else, the map, the walks, the timetables and the pictures, is inside the app before you open it.

• The weather, from Open-Meteo. It asks about Courmayeur, at coordinates fixed in the app, never about where you are. Open-Meteo sees a question about a valley and cannot tell one asker from another.
• A notices file on this domain, so a bus diversion can reach a phone without waiting for a release. The app asks for a file and sends nothing with the request.

Both are kept on the phone so they can be read again without a signal, and both are shown with the hour they were read.

On the trail screen the app draws you on the walk, and works out how far there is to go and how long until the last bus. That needs your position, and it is the only thing your position is used for.

It is read while the app is open. It does not run in the background: the Android build blocks the background location permission outright, and the iOS build declares no background location mode.

When you record a walk, those positions are written to a database on your own phone. They are not sent anywhere, because there is nowhere to send them and nothing at the other end. Delete the app and they go with it.

In the words the store forms use: precise location, collected for app functionality, not linked to the user, and not used for tracking.

Your name, your mail address, your contacts, your photographs, your health, your payment details, your advertising identifier. The app carries no advertising, no crash reporter and no third-party analytics of any kind.

This page says what the site and the app do today, 5 September 2026. If that changes, this page changes with it, and the change is named in the app’s release notes.
